Bank of Saint Lucia Partners with the St Lucia Athletics Association to Host the 2025 National Age Group Championship

Apr 22, 2025

Bank of Saint Lucia is proud to announce its full sponsorship of the Bank of Saint Lucia National Age Group Championship Games, in partnership with the St Lucia Athletics Association (SLAA). Scheduled to take place on June 8–9, 2025, at the Soufrière Mini Stadium, the event is a significant milestone in the Bank’s ongoing commitment to youth development and sports in Saint Lucia.

This is the first year that BOSL is serving as title sponsor of the championship, with a sponsorship valued at over $40,000. The partnership aligns with BOSL’s 2025 Corporate Social Responsibility thrust to invest in the growth of youth across Saint Lucia through sports, education, and community initiatives.

In addition to sponsoring the games, Bank of Saint Lucia has also committed to working alongside the Association to support a series of key initiatives, including Public Relations training, Child Safe Guarding workshops, and Kid’s Athletics Day.

“This sponsorship represents more than financial support — it’s an investment in our youth and the future of athletics in Saint Lucia,” said Analicia Edmunds, Corporate Communications Officer at Bank of Saint Lucia. “We are incredibly proud to be associated with this platform that has given rise to stars like Julien Alfred, and we are even more excited about the emerging talent we’ll see in Soufrière this June.”

The National Age Group Championship is widely regarded as a critical stepping stone for many of the island’s top athletes. The Saint Lucia team, including rising stars such as Naomi London, is currently preparing to represent the country at the CARIFTA Games, further highlighting the importance of sustained support and investment in track and field at the grassroots level.

“We are excited to welcome Bank of Saint Lucia as our title sponsor for this year’s Championship,” said Dora Henry, President of the St Lucia Athletics Association. “This partnership strengthens our mission to not only develop athletes but to create a safe, well-rounded environment that nurtures their full potential. We thank BOSL for their confidence in our work.”

“This initiative aligns perfectly with our corporate values and our commitment to nation-building through youth empowerment,” said Lyndon Arnold, Deputy Managing Director – Operations at Bank of Saint Lucia. “At Bank of Saint Lucia, we believe that investing in sports is investing in discipline, excellence, and national pride. We are honoured to be part of a championship that has played such a pivotal role in the journey of athletes like Julien Alfred and many others.”

As Saint Lucia continues to shine on the regional and international athletics stage, this partnership marks a powerful step forward in developing a generation of future-ready athletes.
